Heckmondwike Comrades WMC.
In all my years of being around the clubs circuit this was the first time, (If my memory serves me right) I have ever been in this club; I was greeted with a smile from the members in there. The purpose of my visit was for the Flair Agency auditions. There were three acts all hoping to impress entertainment agent, Mike Hainsworth; the first act was a very young looking singer, Tom McLeod who comes from Blackpool. Tom looked very smart in a three piece suit with a shirt and tie and polished shoes. He has a pleasant voice and a nice personality. Some of his songs were an up tempo version of, Sometimes When We Touch’, ‘This Is The Moment’ and ‘All Of
Me’.
Enter the lady from Halifax, Julieanna; she looked lovely in a black evening gown complete with lots of silver adornments, (Lts). With hubby David in charge of her sound, Julieanna sang in her set, ‘For One Night Only’, I love to hear her sing that one, ‘You’re My World’,‘We Don’t Cry Out Loud’ and a lovely song called, ‘Whistle Down The Wind’.I haven’t heard that one for many years... Good set Julie... It was good to see her former singing teacher Tracy French there...
The third act was a Ronan Keating tribute act, Mark Wilkinson, AKA, 'One Zone', is the name; he was well dressed for the part and has a good sound system. I was only able to stay for a couple of his songs one of which was, ‘Father And Son’. From the songs I did hear he sounded pretty good. It was good to see Tony Styles and his wife Julie along with Graham Stevens and his wife Ann, also there was Michelle Roundhill. I enjoyed my night out there...
