Westgate Common club was very busy tonight, on stage was Bradford Country Band,’ Dillinger’, a very popular band both in country and as the Crestas rock and roll band. The off the cuff comedy is really funny,’ in between the laughter was a good old Vince Gill country song,‘Little Liza Jane', then there were a few more jokes, one was staggering, no repeats there was one that really tickled me about Chevrons. More songs were, Willie Nelson’s, ‘Me And Paul’ and the Gatlin Brothers song, ‘Broken Lady’. 'Love Will Keep Us Alive', there were some nice harmonies in this one. I’m sure I missed a couple with the jokes flying thick and fast; I sure enjoyed the band… 'Dillinger'.

Oh and Peter said her knees looked nice too, In her second set Beebi wore a long blue cocktail dress, another new one? I could go on but I'm happy with what I've seen and heard. Pontefract Ex- Service men's club loved Lauren Faye Moss. What a lovely voice this lady has. As always she looked great on stage, (LT S). Her music is first class and she sings a good mix of songs for her audiences. In a show a while ago I heard Lauren sing song from the shows and is equally at ease singing Lady Gaga, Jessie J songs. Some of her impressive repertoire tonight were. 'Here You Come Again’, a Dolly Parton song, The Beatles, 'From Me To You', 'Second Hand Rose', a Barbara Streisand song. One from Blondie, 'The Tide Is High'. 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow', The Shirelles.'You Don't Impress Me Much' a Shania Twain hit, Here were some from Lauren's Lady Gaga tribute show and from her Madonna tribute show, is there no end to this lady's talent. Great stuff Lauren Faye Moss.
Lizzi Brown in the Prince Of Wales. Lizzi was dressed in an orange dress, LTS, she has a terrific voice / sound system and chose the right songs. There were not many members in on this rainy and windy night. The first song was 'from This Moment' then she moved to 'Warwick Avenue', not literally you understand. Lizzie got the sound right from the first song. I like her version of, ‘Something Inside So Strong'. So far an easy listening set. Abba's 'Thank You For The Music', The Greatest Love Of All', Whitney Houston was teriffic. Well done Lizzi Brown. Sharlston Rugby club welcomed 'Sixties Mix' on Saturday night; the line up is Terry, on lead guitar and vocals, Biff, on bass and vocals, on rhythm Guitar it's Brian and John is the drummer. They opened with their show with, 'It Doesn't Matter Anymore followed by 'The Rhythm Of The Rain'. As you would expect the music is from the 50's and 60's eras. Del Shannon's 'Runaway' got the dancers on their feet. There was a Crickets song, 'Don't Ever Change'. The band members were dressed very smartly in matching outfits..
There'll Never Be Anyone Else But You''! A Ricky Nelson song followed by a Fortunes song, 'You've Got Your Troubles I Got Mine,' Gerry And The Pacemakers, 'How Do You Do It' went down well. A medley of rock and roll songs included, 'All Shook Up', 'Summertime Blues' an Eddie Cochran hit. Lots more great memories followed from Sixties Mix. The Lupset Welcome The Scratch Band.. The Scratch band was playing the Lupset on Saturday night to a busy crowd. They were on form, a good sound and some new songs. A few of their songs were, 'One Man Band', 'Nowhere Man', 'Born To Be Blue'. 'End Of The Line' and 'Rock This Town'. It was good to see Stan The Man and Ginner in the Lupset. They usually volunteer for a couple of songs... The Band had just about finished their set when we arrived but we enjoyed what we saw an heard. Sixties Mix and The Scratch Band VEX is a two girls duo who looked great in their stage attire. These girls also have an Abba tribute show called, ' Honey - Honey'. Tonight they opened their show with a "mash up" of 'Stop In The Name Of Love'. And 'Free Your Mind'. Two lovely voices and excellent sound / lights. Harmonies and good choreography. More of Vex's song were, 'Never Forget You', 'I Wanna Be A Billionaire' and an Adele song, 'To Make You Feel My Love’. There is always some movement to each song.... An Excellent show from,' VEX... |
