What a lovely day it's been today, GLASSHOUGHTON Club was very busy when I arrived; on stage, a terrific singer / entertainer, Sonya. Her sound system is excellent.
She looked lovely in her stage wear, a knee length dress in silver, (I think), like the shoes, Sonya opened her first set with Queens, 'A Crazy Little Thing Called Love'. Some of her priceless observation and one liners followed, the Shirelles, 'Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow', UB40's version of Elvis's, 'Can't Help Fallin' In Love', there was Enrique Iglesias's, 'Hero', Millie's 'My Boy Lollipop', Sonya sure knows how to get an audience going; looking around the crowd joined with enthusiasm; she had everyone singing along to Petula Clark's 'Sailor', I do believe Ann Shelton also had a great hit with this song, it went down well anyway, 'By The Rivers Of Babylon' was also very popular. A superb set from Sonya who finished with The Dave Clark Five's' 'Glad All Over'.
Pictured below are a lovley couple, Becky and Robert. If I get stuck with the name of a song, they help me out. Thanks a lot, you guys xx
