Rotherham Trades Club was busy tonight. The occasion was a Charity Show, in aid of Rotherham Hospice. Compering the show was John Fitzpatrick. He opened the show with his signature song 'How Do You Do'. John, as always looked very smart in his stage attire. LTS, John introduced lovely Amelia Grace! Amelia has a beautiful voice, some of her songs were 'Let It Go', I liked Amelia's version of the Heart song, 'Alone', and one called, 'Bring Me To Life'. A nice set from Amelia.
John introduced a young man who appeared in The X Factor a few years ago and only last year was in the prestigious Blackpool Command Show, he is Craig Rolson; he has a terrific voice, he opened his set with a song called, 'I Was Born To Love You', followed by, 'Help Me Make It Through The Night'. 'I Just Haven't Found What I'm Looking For'. There was Roy Orbison's, 'Pretty Woman', and American Trilogy that went well with the crowd which was by this time big.... Craig sang in his set a song written by John Brogan, (John was on the show in a duo called Cameo), ‘Walk Away'.
John introduced a special friend / singer, of both of us, the lovely Beebi Del; Beebi looked
great in silver sequinned and short dress, like the shoes. She opened her set with, 'I'm Alive' followed by 'This Is The Moment'. A Dolly Parton country song, ''Silver Threads And Golden Needles', 'Rule The World'. One of Tina Turner’s hits, 'Proud Mary’. Olivia Newton John’s, ‘Xanadu’, 'When You Tell Me That You Love Me'. A Diana Ross song, what a fabulous entertainer / singer. Beebi Del. Beebi closed her part of the show with, 'The Rose'.
After the interval when the raffle was drawn, the bingo was played and a game called high fives, it was back to the show, our great compere; John Fitzpatrick took the stage as a performer apart from his compering duties...
He opened with a Back Street Boys song, 'Larger Than Life', ‘Love Is All', 'Mardi Gras', (the movements, Shades of Norman Wisdom) His comedy went down really well and the song he is noted for and much requested, 'Sex On Fire', oh... The energy. John finished his set with, 'The Working Man'. A very popular song when sung by Mr Fitzpatrick.
The last but not least act tonight was the duo, 'Cameo' who also provided the sound system tonight. Cameo was in fine form. They looked great in their stage outfits and opened with, 'Heaven Must Be Missing Angels', a smashing sound from John and Jill, the next song, 'Young Hearts Run Free', an up tempo, 'Sometimes When We Touch', 'Human', the Scissor Sisters, 'I Don't Feel Like Dancing'. There were many others for the dancers. Well done Cameo and all the artistes tonight...
Kate Purdue is a lovely lady who is the community fundraiser at Rotherham Hospice was here tonight and gave short speech on the costs of running the Hospice and the estimate tonight was in excess £600 at the last count with more to come; this later increased to :-
£709 - 46p...
Thanks to everyone here tonight, the entertainers, the ticket and bingo ticket sellers and to the audience.
