A very busy Pastures Lodge in Mexborough was my destination today for the Angle / Crossland agents showcase; the compere was "Lee Lard". After a few one liners he introduced:-
Kieran Scott; Male Vocalist looking very dapper, a good voice and opened with, ‘A Ship Called Liberty'. Kieran looked at ease on stage as he went into, 'Losing My Religion', an REM hit. A good set from Kieran
Queen B, a Beyoncé tribute by Jade McKenzie dressed in a very short white outfit, like the shoes, Jade opened with, 'Never Let Me Go', and 'Single Ladies'
Full Fat Funk are Jason Halliwell and Nikki Allen, two singers and musicians in their own right, they opened with Take that's 'The Flood'. Their harmonies are superb, Nikki played keys and Jason is on sax and guitar; in their set they sang, (amongst other songs), and played, 'Moving On Up', A great set from Full Fat Funk.
Lauren Porter is Lady Gaga, wearing a short leotard, (there were studs on her, err, Boobs, like the shoes and the shades the first song was, ‘I Was Born This Way’. What a voice, Gaga's next song was, 'Love Game'. A good entertainer, the final song was, ‘Applaud'.
A Jay Jackson appeared looking smart in a suit, he has good voice and opened with, 'It's My Life', a Bon Jovi's song. 'I Feel Good', a James Brown number. AJ ended his set with, 'Let's Hang On'. 'Sherry Baby'. and a Four Seasons medley...
Enter S61, a four girl’s harmony show who opened with an Adele medley, 'Rumour Has It And Someone Like You', there was a slow version of Amy Winehouse's, 'Back To Black', S61' ended their set with a moving version of, 'You Raise Me Up'.
Gold is a four piece Live 80's tribute show singing the songs of Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, David Bowie, a very good band. Father & Son will be back tonight as Vegas Duo.
Neurythmics, a tribute to The Eurhythmics. dressed in the style of the band. A couple of the songs, 'When Tomorrow Comes', 'There Must Be An Angel Playing With My Heart' and 'Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves. A good original sound... The Neurythmics.
Lee then introduced to the stage, Beebi Del, she looked great in a short black dress adorned with silver sequins; Like the shoes, Beebi has a super voice and thrilled the audience with her lovely voice singing, 'This Is The Moment' and one for ME. ‘Xanadu’. 'Picture Perfect', A Lady Antebellum song. Great stuff Beebi.
Danny Barton appeared next minus microphone but this caused some amusement as Lee dashed to re- introduce, (drum roll), 'Danny Barton'. Danny looked good in a suit, shirt and tie. Like the shoes, he sang in his set, 'Here I Go Again On My Own', a super version of 'Hungry Eyes' and one from John Lennon, 'Imagine'. A good set Danny.
Enter the "Fat Lad", Johnny Martell looking a million dollars in his stage outfit: Johnny is singer and comedian; he opened his set with Tony Christies ‘Avenues And Alleyways' a few jokes and then sang' I Dreamed A Dream'. Hey Pat, He's singing our song, 'My Girl'. No jokes repeated here folks, anyway I was laughing too much to remember them.
Va Voom is a male/female harmony duo, two voices in harmony: their first song was Journey's, 'Don't Stop Believing'. Followed by Michael Jackson’s 'I'll Be There. Like the shoes and like the legs. The lady in the duo, Cat Diva appeared later in the show as Kylie.
Jon Alex is Elton Jonathan, looking and sounding like the great man, Jon is an excellent musician and vocalist; his choice of songs were, 'I'm Still Standing', 'I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues', 'Danielle' and 'Crocodile Rock'. Just like the real man...
Motown To Mars. Featuring Louie Stephens, with the sounds of Celo Green, Chubby Checker, Journey, The Drifters, Olly Murs, The Beatles, Bruno Mars and many more. A superb band Louie, great musicians...
Legends Of Soul n’ Motown is a three piece band, 1 lady and two guys. Three great voices and close harmonies. The dance moves were slick and as you would expect a medley of the songs from the Motown and soul eras.
A very enjoyable afternoon of entertainment.
The evening entertainment was started with a few jokes and laughter from Lee Lard. No jokes here folks.
Lee introduced 5th Avenue, Claire and Paul, this is a man and wife duo who have been around the music scene for a few years and just get better. Claire has a superb voice as she demonstrated when she sang, ‘Devil Gate Drive’, Paul is nifty on the drums and bass guitar, he surprised me when he played acoustic guitar when Claire sang Adele’s, ‘Make You Feel My Love’. A good set from 5th Avenue.
The next act was Epica, a contemporary classical and musical theatre, male /female duo. KtStar and Dean Alexander, Two great voices in harmony. The outfits are superb, LKS. A couple of their songs were, ‘The Prayer’ and an Italian version of, ‘Knights In White Satin’, yet another excellen set from Epica...
Grace was the next artiste, she looked lovely in her stage outfit, (Lts), Grace is also a Pink tribute artiste and she has a great voice. Grace is a well respected artiste on the circuit I loved her performance. A couple of her songs were, ' Sweet Child Of Mine' and Prince's, 'Purple Rain'.
Top Marks is a young male harmony vocal duo who are always very smart on stage, as you may have gathered none of the acts had a lot of time on stage but Top Marks zipped through their set with rock and roll songs; most impressive.
Funny Girl, the next act was, Lauren Faye Moss who was singing the songs of Barbara Streisand. Lauren has a voice that can cover acts like Lady Gaga, Madonna and Amy Winehouse’ one of the songs last night that impressed was, ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade. A great set Lauren.
Dance Nation is a three piece male harmony band, three great voices and good dance moves, a couple of their songs were, ‘Sex On Fire’ and an Olly Murs song, which for the life in me I just couldn’t catch the title. A great set nevertheless.
Chris Lafferty, although a young man seems to have been around forever. He has a well controlled voice; the power and vibrato are top class. Chris looked good on stage and a couple of his songs were by Take That and a song I had never heard was a Josh Grogan song. Onwards and Upwards Chris.
Vegas is a male vocal instrumental duo, (father and son). The father was dressed very smartly and the son was dressed in appropriate clothes for a rock guitarist. He looked good. A couple of their songs were, ‘The Wonder Of You’ and an very impressive Queen medley. I liked this act very much.
Another tribute act on the show was Wayne Samuels as Michael, Duble, all the actions were there, the voice is good and very smart from top to toe in a tuxedo. ‘Fever’, ‘You Make Me Feel So Young’ and ‘It’s A Beautiful Day’ were some of his songs.
Kylie M by Cat Diva she looked amazing in her outfit lots of feathers a la Kylie Minogue, nice voice and her opening song was, ‘On A Night This', 'The Locomotion’, this young lady has got style, change of costume for, 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'. 'Spinning Around’. Just Brilliant.
Pure Barlow, a great look alike, the voice, the clothes, (Davey Nichols)'. Another top tribute. Some songs I didn't know but they were sung well, his final song was, 'Back For Good'. Well done Davey, oops, Gary.
Jessie Jade, (Leanne Green), with her two dancers, 'If This A Dream’, ‘It’s My Party', again some of the songs I didn't know. A good tribute to Jessie J. Great stuff Leanne.

The Ragdolls is a tribute to the Jersey Boys and, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. The stage outfits were top class, harmonies excellent. Great choreography, Songs, 'What A Night', 'Sherry Baby', 'Begging You’,’ Blue Moon', loved the close Harmonies 'Walk Like. A Man', there were many more from The Rag Dolls...
