Gilly's Country Music Club situated in Westgate Common Club, was packed Out' tonight, on stage tonight was the Haley's. Two
sisters, Joanne, Becky and husband of Becky, Brian. A guest
guitarist was the illustrious 'Richard Harding'. Two lovely ladies with beautiful voices in perfect harmony. I was there for the last set which they opnened with a song dedicated to the late Stu Page which was,'Sing Me. A Song Sweet Music Man'. The crowd was hushed and everyone in the club's eyes were on the stage; it was a pleasure being in the same room to remember Stu.
There was an Elvis song, 'That's Alright Mama', a Waylon Jennings number, 'Dreaming My Dreams Away', Buddy Holly's, 'It Doesn't Matter Anymore', Merle,Haggard's 'Today I Started Loving You Again'. The Haley sisters voices are really haunting, thrilling and any other adjective that fits, in other words, "I
like 'em". Brian played a solo using a pint of beer on the strings. There were some fine rifts and solo parts played by Richard. The last song was, 'The Breeze', and the encore was a Johnny Cash number,'I Still Miss Someone'. Country Music at its very best.
