Tonight I'm at the Albion Street Club in Castleford, (The Nash).
On stage tonight it's 'The Dream Girls'. They came on stage wearing red sequinned dresses, very glamorous. Like the shoes. Stevie and Chris opened their show with, ‘S’Wonderful’ and ‘You're My World’. The comedy was outrageous so, funny but I'll leave that out. Most of their shows are in Turkey but they hail from Castleford. What a super show, I saw part of the first set and my trousers are nearly dry from laughter. Stevie and Chris are,‘The Dream Girls'.
Waiting For Picture.
Yet again Gilly's Traditional CMC was very busy, within Westgate Common Wmc.
On stage tonight, the Mike Ford Duo. They were on stage when I arrived. They arrived late due to a serious accident on the M1,Some of their songs were, 'Some Days Are Diamonds' and a Johnny Cash favourite, 'I'll Walk The Line'. There was one I have heard but a long time ago called, 'Ira Heap'. There was Leroy Van Dyke’s, ‘Walk On By'. The set was closed with a song called, 'T For Texas'.
Mike and his bass player. In the second set a couple of songs were, A Johnny Cash song, 'Out Among The Stars', Billy Joe Shaver’s, ‘We’ll Live Forever’, Dwight Yokem’s, ‘It Wont Hurt’. There were many more that this listening crowd were singing along to. One song that that took me back to the days of Heppy and the Wakefield Arms band was a Kris Kristofferson's song, 'Sunday Morning Coming Down', a song new to me was one called 'Sam Stone'. Another good night at Gilly's TRADITIONAL Country Club.
