Tonight folks, feeling a bit better, I travelled to Carlton Club. There was a Fund raising show taking place in aid of, 'The Royal British Legion'. There were raffles and bingo to help swell the funds for this worthy cause. The artiste tonight is Barbara Dean. Barbara always looks good whether on or off stage. Tonight she was dressed in black trousers and a red top; her first song, ‘When You Walk in The Room’, a song by the Searchers. The sound equipment is good and Mr Dean knows which knobs to twiddle. The next song, 'Only You', song by Yazoo, also by the Flying Pickets. Barbara has a night easy listening voice; she had the members singing along with her. A Creedence Clearwater Revival song, 'Bad Moon Rising', hey a floor full of dancers for this one. The songs of Queen, Gerry And The Pacemakers, The Tams, Herman’s Hermits, The Drifters, were featured. The last song was especially for Me, Neil Sedaka's,'The Hungry Years’. Well Done Barbara, and what a memory.
