Horbury Wmc Welcomed J. P. Morris.
The club was pretty busy, it's the holiday season and some familiar faces were missing. The sound equipment was excellent and so were the lights. Sheffield singer J.P Morris was making his debut here in Horbury, he opened his show with, 'Breaking Down The Walls Of Heartbreak', a good rousing opener. P J is a very smart man on stage; His Second song was' Baby Now That I've Found You'. Songs by Lionel Richie. Jimmy James and the Vagabonds, the Drifters, the O'Jays, Hot Chocolate, Jimmy Ruffin, The backing tracks are of excellent quality. P J moves well on stage to the delight of the members here in Horbury WMC. PJ’s music is Soul and Motown songs. ‘Penny Lover’ was a Lionel Richie hit. ‘A Man Like Me Needs A Woman Like You‘. Jimmy James & The Vagabonds. Down At The Club. Drifters. She Was My Girl, O'Jays Farewell Is A Lonely Sound.. Jimmy Ruffian So You Win Again. Hot Chocolate The Love I Lost, Harold Melville And The Blue Notes, were just a few more of PJ’s show. Brilliant.
Here were are in Ossett Central Club.
On stage here tonight is, Festival. Rob on guitar and vocals and Martin on Keyboards and harmonies, make up the duo. They have a great sound system, and lights system. Their first songs in the set were Beatles songs, there was a Willie Nelson country song called, 'On The Road Again', Rob has taken to playing the mandolin, (I couldn't spell Ukulele), and played/sung a McGuiness Flint song, 'When I'm Dead And Gone'. There was a Joe Brown song called, 'I'll See You In My Dreams'. That was absolutely fabulous Rob and Martin. More songs were by, Michael Buble, I loved the rock and roll songs, there was a Danny And The Juniors, 'At The Hop'. 'It Must Be Love', a Madness song. Festival closed their first set with a Reggae song, 'Kingston Town', UB40.
The Admiral Duncan was our last visit, we called in at the Admiral Duncan. The music was provided by a band called, Jelly Project who were well into their last set. The first song we heard was, 'Hold Back The Night', a Trammps song. It's country bluesy style of music they play. There was, 'There House Of The Rising Sun', one by the Animals. Eric Burdon sang in this band. Next was one called, 'Country Girls'. There was, 'They Call It The Breeze'. And the final song was, Steamy Windows', a Tina Turner song.
