Girnhill Lane was my first stop tonight to see an entertainer I have long admired; Darren Yorke is the name, he looked very smart in a suit an white shirt, like the shoes. His stage equipment is classy as are his backing tracks. His first song is one I just love to hear him sing, 'Come Up And See Me Sometime'. Followed by another great song, 'Jesamine', a Casuals hit from the 60’s. Darren has a knack of getting laughs out of serious questions, (see below, re CORO). He also has good banter with the crowds he entertains. Next came songs by The Searchers, Rod Stewart, Doby Grey, ‘Drift Away', a great song and well sung Darren, he closed his first set with a well put together. Hollies Medley, A smashing set and some good banter with him and me; I enjoyed that.
One of Darren’s questions was, ’Why is this club called the CORO?. Answers on the back of a ten pound note please.. :) .
