Tonight at the Prince Of Wales I saw and heard a newcomer to me, Martin Dalton is the name. The weather outside was warm and even warmer inside but Martin was wearing a smart suit, shirt and tie. He has a terrific and powerful voice; he was singing the older songs in this first set. Frankie Laine, Nat King Cole, Gary Barlow, Martin threw in a few one liners. He went on to sing 'Every Time I Look At You'; it was excellent use of the microphone on this song. The Beatles featured with 'I Feel Fine', there was a Michael Buble song also recorded by Westlife, 'Home'. The final song in the first set with Neil Diamond's, 'I Am I Said'. A good set from Martin Dalton. Leeds social clubs for picture.
Next Friday at the POWales it's Rock and Roll Night. The band on stage is Jive
Express. Come on down and let your hair down...

Simina was the artiste on stage at the Pontefract Sports and Social club tonight, she has a very strong voice that was demonstrated when she sang Dusty Springfield, her and Smokie Robinson songs. Simina was wearing a long black dress complete with a sparkly top and, like the shoes. I know Semina from a band she sang with some years ago. I liked her rendition of Cher's, 'If I Could Turn Back Time', 'Black Velvet', went down well. One I haven't heard for a while, 'I Second That Emotion'. There was an Elkie Brooks song, she closed her set with another Cher song, 'Walking' In Memphis'. A terrific show from this lady, "Simina".

I was asked tonight if the Pontefact Ex-Servicemens club had closed, I had a
ride round to have a look and I can tell you that it ......isn't! in fact it has
changed hands and is having a name change to, 'AMBIENCE'. And is under the
management of Brad Bowers. When I called in tonight the artiste on stage was
Thomas Henry who was into his dance set. Some of his songs were, 'Love Really
Hurts', Erasure's, 'Respect'. Thomas was doing well, the customers loved him.
Unfortunately I had to cut my visit short but I will be in the Ambience again to
see how things are progressing.
Next week at the POW it's Elisha Nicole. Come and support your club
