Glasshoughton on this bank holiday was quite busy; a change of artiste brought a good friend to the club. Looking very smart it's Steve Andrews, Steve has a very good voice and a pleasant personality. He opened his show with a Drifters song followed by a David Alexander song. There was a great version of, 'I Believe', in the Joe Longthorne style, this was well received by the friendly crowd. There was some good old rock and roll with a Jerry Lee Lewis hit, 'Great Balls Of Fire' Steve may be over er, well, 37.. ish! but he can still rock; there was some Motown which is very popular in the clubs today, Steve has terrific repertoire.
Go and see him when he comes to a club or pub near you. He even sang a Shirley Bassey song, 'As I Love You'; I loved Steve’s version. His links between songs keeps his audiences interested. A couple more songs were by, Neil Sedaka, ‘Calendar Girl’ and Conway Twitty,
(It's Only Make Believe).
