Tong Street WMC
There was a 70th birthday party going on at The Tong Street Club in Bradford on Monday night in honour of Brenda Connell; a lovely lady who had her family and friends there, these literally filled the club.
I had called in to see the ‘2011 Hull Talent Trail Winner’, Ktstar who was especially asked to provide the entertainment for the party. Katie was on great form, she looked fabulous in a turquoise off the shoulder dress which sparkled with the lights. I loved her shoes. As it was a 70th party she had been asked to sing songs from the 50’s and 60’s and she duly obliged. There were the songs of Etta James, (At Last), Connie Francis, (Lipstick On Your Collar, Stupid Cupid and Where The Boys Are. Neil Sedaka, (Oh Carol), The Ronettes (Be My Baby) and many more. Ktstar’s voice is a thrilling voice I could listen to all night and the next night. Well done Ktstar.
On the same show was a lady who is new to me called Laurie*Anna. Well what a start to her show, she appeared on stage in an outfit… Just look at her picture below…I can tell you that the audience never took their eyes off this lady who is described as a Zany Vocal Entertainer, in fact I think she’s mental in a nice sort of way. She threw herself all over the stage; there were jokes, funny songs and oh, some ventriloquism in her shows too. She finished her set out of breath, (And so was I) and sang and DANCED to 'Tell Me Ma'. Well I’m not going to dwell too much on this lady’s show; you have to see her for your self. Zany certainly suits her image. Laurie*Anna my friends…
