The Howard Brothers at Gilly’s.
It was good to see a busy night at Gilly’s on Tuesday. The country act on stage was Tim and Jez, the Howard Brothers along with bass player Hugh Bradley; I was there for the second set which opened with a guitar duet called. ‘Billy In The Low Ground’. All three of this band are excellent musicians and good on harmony. Tim on banjo and Jez on guitar and well accompanied by Hugh, played ‘Duelling Banjos’, absolutely superb; there were a few jokes along the way before they played, ‘Today I Started Loving You Again, Devil Woman and a country version of, ‘Great Balls Of Fire’. A superb night of entertainment at, Gilly’s Country Music Club.
