The Spirit Of Smokie…
The Blue Lite pub in Alverthorpe is a new venue for bands; it is under the new management of Shaun Whelan and Martin Grainger who have some good plans for the venue.
On stage last night, (Friday July 1st) was the popular Spirit Of Smokie. The line up is Dean Barton, lead vocals and guitar, Andy Whelan on lead guitar and harmonies and Graham Kearns on bass guitar and harmonies. they were playing to a near full house as they went through the well known Smokie songs and a few by other artistes. Baby It’s You, I’ll Meet You At Midnight, If You Think You know How To Love Me and Mexican Girl were just a few.
On Friday July 8th, another popular band, The Welsh T Band will appear. It’s a good venue so, see you there?
