Alex And Toni Are ‘Venus’.
Outwood club was very busy on Sunday night when I called in; there was a good happy atmosphere in the place and I was made welcome as I walked through the door. On stage were two beautiful young Hull ladies, Alex
and Toni who are better known as the duo. ‘Venus’. They looked fabulous in their stage wear, black trouser suits, during the set they changed into classy short sequined dresses. Some of the songs they sang were Diana Ross’s, ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’, the Bruno Mars song, ‘Just The way You Are’ and a super dance version of ‘Sweet Soul Music’, the Arthur Conley version. The sound equpment the lights and the harmonies were lovely as were the two ladies, ‘Venus’. They are represented by the McLeod agency in Hull...
Teri Entertains Pontefract Ex - Service Mens Club...
Pontefract Ex Service - Mens club was very busy when I walked in; I was greeted like an old friend;I went to the bar to wish the club’s stewardess Caroline, a Happy Birthday and to buy her a drink for Tuesday when she will be ‘Over 21’. On stage was a very good entertainer whom I saw a few weeks ago in Ossett, Teri Sullivan who was as always in fine voice and looked great in a black dress and coat adorned with sequins, ‘LTB’, Teri opened her set with a Bob Geldof song, ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’. Teri has a very different set of songs to most other acts I have seen, how many thatfemale singers do you knowt that sing David Bowie’s song, ‘Ziggy Stardust’ and Smokie’s, ‘If You Think You Know How To Love Me’.Well she has the voice to sing these songs and the members loved them and her. A great performer is Teri Sullivan...
The Prince Of Wales Club Welcomes 'Julieanna'.
The club was reasonably busy, the tap room was doing well and the concert room had quite a few in there listening to that lovely Halifax singer Julieanna; she has an operatic soprano voice and what a range. She looked great in a black sparkly trouser suit, LTS, some of her songs were, ‘Hot Stuff’, ‘Human’, The Nolan’s song from the 80’s, ‘I’m In The Mood For Dancing’ and ‘Mercy’. Julieanna then went on to sing some of her more classical songs, ‘Time To Say Goodbye’, in Italian, ‘Love Changes Everthing’ and finished her impressive set with a Diana Ross song,‘When You Tell Me That You Love Me’. What a super night of differing styles of music, lovely.
Julieanna tells me that she going to ‘Keeping It Live’ in Coventry in March and is looking for agent/management to assist her chances in the Cruise Ship market. I wish her every success. You can also see Julieanna at the Blackpool Command performance on Friday, 13th April at the Blackpool Horseshoe Bar. Tickets are £9 each available from Alan Pilborough. Send an S.A.E to “57, Munster Avenue, Bispham, Blackpool, FY2 0HG”...
