Emma Dale In Normanton.
No! not the T/V Soap, this was a young lady called, “Emma Dale”; she appeared in Normanton’s St John’s Terrace Club on Saturday night. Emma was dressed in a lovely long red evening dress and looked stunning. Her stage presence is good and she carries a good PA system. Some of her songs were, ‘Dancing In The City’, ‘Boom Bang A Bang’, ‘Stupid Cupid’, and a few good ole Country songs; the dance floor was buzzing right from her first set. Pat and I
remarked favourably to each other on her wartime songs medley which she sang in her second set; this went down well with the ‘Terrace’ club Members. Emma is certainly a good entertainer and she is a near look – a - like to ‘Chas Dingle’ too.
In the audience was Wakefield’s 'First Lady Of Music', 72 years old, (Young),"Miss Patti Brook". If you have never seen Patti you have missed a real Star. Emma invited her to the stage where she sang songs from the ‘60’s era. ‘Sweet Nuthin’s’,‘ Son Of A Preacher Man’ and ‘Lollipop’. I looked around the room and saw people singing along with Patti. It was good to see a very busy club and the standard of artistes is very good, not only tonight but in the future too...
