Sequence Dancing At ‘Pontefract Sports & Social Club’.
There was a great atmosphere on Tuesday night at the club where ace organist, Alan Eddison, was playing for Sequence Dancing. Alan has been around as long as I can remember and knows which tune fits which dance. I thought I did but I tip my hat to Alan. On this occasion he was playing a Technics SXKN6000 keyboard as the Lowery organ needs some repairs. Alan also helps out calling the Bingo. Anyway, one couple who were dancing like Victor Sylvester and his partner were Brian Cliff and his dancing partner, Floss, who are quite nimble on the dance floor. There are three lovely ladies, Lily, Muriel and Maureen, who look after the dance night. Lily I’m reliably told is 97 years old and still turns up every week. Muriel and Maureen are mere youngsters in their 80’s. I will be calling in with my camera next week and I will add it to this review...
