Ossett central was quite busy tonight. On stage was a duo called Timeless. A good two males duo, both have good voices and are very smart on stage. They are billed as comedy/vocalists and I would back that all the way. They have an excellent PA system. None of the comedy lines here and just a few of their songs. I liked their version of the Platters, 'My Prayer'. They closed the set with a song by, The Merseys, 'Sorrow'. A good interesting set from, 'TIMELESS'.
We moved on to Horbury WMC. The artistes here, Fifth Avenue, The artistes were both well dressed for the stage, in Angies case, like the shoes. I also liked the intro music, it was the Countdown tune. The first song was, 'Mr Blue Sky', a terrific opener, coming up, Tina Turner song, 'Proud Mary', there was one called, 'Video Killed The Radio Star', loved that one, other songs were the songs of, Journey, 'Don't Stop Believing', they ended the set with a Meatloaf song, 'Bat Out Of Hell'. Another good act, that's 2 out of 2, just one to go...
Our next call was at the Admiral Duncan in Wakefield. The band there is, Revolver, we've seen a few times and we like them. They were in full flow when we arrived. They were playing the songs the clientele like, it's a four piece outfit comprising of a lead singer/ guitarist, a lead guitar, bass and drums. A couple of their songs were, 'A Town Called Malice' , A Beatles song, 'I Saw Her Standing There', a Status Quo song, 'Paper Plane', 'Handle Me With Care', a Traveller Wilbury's hit. There were a few more to envoy, for an encore Revolver sang and played, 'Johnny B Goode'. That's 3/3. We've been spoiled tonight.
Next Saturday Night In The Admiral Duncan It's, The 'Mr Jones' Band.
