Rhodes Street Fund Raiser...
This is an appeal from Darren Payne, Events Manager at Castleford Tigers RLFC. I think whether you live in Castleford, John O’ Groats or Lands End, we could help in some way...
As you are probably aware there was a devastating event that took place in Rhodes street, Castleford a couple of weeks ago which involved a gas explosion which wrecked a full row of terraced houses. Some people including young families had everything destroyed and I would like stage a fundraising evening in the marquee to raise money to help them in some way. The show will be held in the Castleford Coliseum Marquee within the Castleford Tigers Ground. I am asking if any businesses in the local area or yourself has anything we could auction or raffle; it would most certainly be appreciated.
The date of the event will be Thursday 25th August and will commence at 8.00pm. Tickets are £3 and will be available from the club shop or Sean Empson who is helping organise this with me.
This is a massive community story and it would put the "Castleford Tiger's" once again firmly in the public eye helping local people; I would urge as many director’s, staff and players to attend and make this a successful evening.
