The Blackpool Preview Shows...
Thursday October 13th, The Prince Of Wales WMC was the venue for the Blackpool Command Preview Show. Appearing were six acts;
Alicia Brady looked lovely in a short black dress edged with white, (and yes,'Liked the shoes,'). Alicia has a good strong voice with a good range; she has a ready smile and a great personality both on and off stage. Her well chosen songs were, ‘Don’t Stop Believing’, ‘The Rose’, one of the best versions of ‘Valerie’ I have heard so far and ending with a rousing Abba medley. A great opening to the show...
Bubbles was the next artiste, her name suits her because she has a Bubbly personality. Bubbles looked great in her black sparkling dress and I liked the shoes, ‘Set Fire To The Rain’, ‘The Voice’, (What a superb rendition of this John Farnham song), Bubbles best song for me was,‘Immortality’, and Queen’s,‘Somebody To Love’.
Mark Ellis is a terrific entertainer, he was dressed in a black patterned shirt like the one in the picture below, black trousers and polished black shoes. Mark is a born comedian and a good singer added to his outgoing personality, in his set he sang, ‘My First My Last My Everything’, ‘Get Ready’ and ‘Shout’. Well done Mark Ellis...
Vicky Louise looked good in a long bright red evening gown; she has a good strong voice and a nice smile. Vicky sang in her set, ‘Johnny B Goode’, ‘Stupid Cupid’, I Saw Him Standing There’, ‘Love Will Keep Us Together’and ‘Don’t Rain On My Parade’. Yet another good performance...
Carefree is a 60’s harmony trio that I have seen on many occasions, Rob, Brian and Mark are always very smart on stage and always wear suits and ties. Their harmonies are note perfect; they each play guitar with added tracks for drums and keyboards which gives a full band sound. Their songs included were, ‘Lying Eyes’, ‘The Last Time’, ‘When You Walk In The Room’, ‘Here Comes My Baby’ and ‘We Love to Boogie’. Another top performance from Carefree...
The final artiste was Caitlen Bailey who was dressed in a beautiful pink ball gown with silver accessories and I liked the silver shoes... Caitlen sang in her set, ‘I Who Have Nothing’,‘Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps’in a Latin American tempo, ‘Maybe This Time’ and ‘One Night Only’were some of Caitlen's impressive programme.
The next preview show will be at Girnnhill Lane (The Corra) club in Featherstone on Wednesday October 26th.
I think the preview shows have left the producers and the people from Blackpool spoiled for choice; I don’t envy them their job...
