Jolene and Barry at Gilly’s.
The concert room in the Wakefield City club was very busy on Tuesday night for Gilly’s Country Music Club. I am so pleased that this has taken off so well. On stage was the Scottish duo, Jolene and Barry. The singing, harmonies, the music and all round presentation was excellent; there were even some dance steps from Jolene whose voice was pretty close to the sound of Karen Carpenter. Some of the songs were, ‘Good Girls Gonna Go Bad, ‘It Keeps Right On A Hurtin’and ‘Does The Wind Still Blow In Oklahoma. The songs of Reba McIntyre, Gene Watson and Billy Jo Spears were also featured. A good show from a lovely couple who have been on a UK tour and will be back in Lanark, Scotland this morning. Come back and see us again Jolene and Barry…
Next Tuesday, August 16th, Gilly’s welcome Tony Ainsco, Pure Country
