Terry Webster In The Lupset
We ended our night out at The Lupset where we saw Terry Webster, Britain’s best comedy impressionist and the voice of the top hits on Jive Bunny and was lead singer in The Rocking Berries for many years, he was a regular on the Television show, ‘Who Do You Do’, a comedy impressionist show. Tonight he showed what Impressionists are all about. Little Eva, Elvis, The Beatles, Buddy Holly, Lonnie Donegan, ‘Heppy’, yes Heppy who for those of you who have never heard of him was a leading entertainer in the Wakefield area. The voices and the facial impressions are uncanny.
For me Terry should still be up there with the best. All his backing tracks are made in his own home studio and are as good as anything I have heard. He is a song writer amongst his many talents. It was good to see a couple of his band mates there last night, Terry McAvoy and Phil Bonner played in Terry’s band, ‘Jack O’ Diamonds in the 1950’s along with his sister, local beauty Queen and International singer Patti Brook. You really have to see, ‘Terry Webster’ in action...
Landlord, Mick McGinley, is planning a Heppy and the Kalahari Bushmen show later in the year. You have just got to see this. Terry was part of this great band, musicians came from all over the county just to sit in with the band. I will let you know when this is happening…
