The Vocaltutor Christmas Show.
This was a show produced and presented by Georgina Hill-Brown at Westgate Common Club on Thursday night, (December 16th.
Appearing on the show were, Emily Atkinson, Carla Tagg, Helena Starz, Aimee Barratt, Danielle Atkinson, Shannon Mares, Phoenix, Chloe Gadd, Jess Pinder, Ellie Hill-Brown, Naomi, Mary Thompson, Rachel Skelton. The only boy on the show was Joel Wright. There was a lady called Jay who I think should be already working as a professional singer. In fact Jay did sing up to a couple of years ago and I hope she is considering a come back. I could pick out plenty of good voices; there were certainly no bad ones. I did like Helena Starz version of ‘Oh Holy Night’ which was very moving. Helena, Rachel and Jess are the trio ‘Finesse’ who appeared in a show for the Polio Fellowship at Crigglestone recently. I would like to give Georgina Hill-Brown and her husband William a hearty pat on the back and a great big thenk you from their students for the hard work they put in.
A good night of entertainment but where were the members? They missed a fine show from these young singers.
The Lupset was quite busy on Saturday night when the Scratch Band presented their Christmas Party; Stewart, Mick, Mike and Martin were on form as they performed all the songs that the people there asked for. There wer some quiz questions, (I won a prize), There was free food, lots of laughs and some great music. Volunteers were, former Scratch Band lead guitarist, Steve Mounsey, Stan The Man, Matt the Fish Man and one Mr T. It's thank you from me, (Mr T) to the Scratch Band for the music and friendship over the years and for keeping the music LIVE, It's always a great night of entertainment with>>>>>>>>
, "THE SCRATCH BAND"...
Today at The Lupset Jim Santana appeared in his Elvis tribute show; this was the third in Mick and Sue's Christmas Fayre shows; Jim looked great in a white Elvis style Jump Suit adorned with rhinestones. Viva Las vegas, that's Alright Mama, and an excellent medley of Elvis early years songs. The diners were well looked after by the staff in the Lupset as the were served with a lovely Christmas lunch. The tables looked superb and a couple of the diners told me, "It was fantastic".
and on Thursday 23rd it's that great family band, BeardSmith. Friday 24th, (Christmas Eve) it's Mick McGinley with his Disco/Karaoke Show.Bring in the New Year with Sully's Heroes. On Saturday the 1st from 6pm there's a Fireworks Display and Bonfire, Pies and Peas etc.
I don't know about you but I think Mick McGinley and his lovely wife Sue are doing a great job at the Lupset; They too deserve a big pat on the back. As most landlords will tell you, it's not an easy job running a pub!
