I saw that Marty Lee was the artiste at Alverthorpe club tonight, (Sunday). As always Marty was immaculately, dressed in a suit and tie. (I liked his patent black shoes). Marty opened his show with a very powerful rendition of, ‘The Impossible Dream’, this went very well and people in the bar came through to listen to this great singer.
Other songs in his performance were the songs of Gene Pitney, David Whitfield, Bobby Vee, Bobby Vinton and many others. Two songs I enjoyed that mean a lot to me were a Bobby Vinton song, ‘Mr Lonely’, which was sung with moving passion and one of Skeeter Davis’s songs, ‘The End Of The World’. Another good performance from Marty Lee...
Freshly Squeezed at Pontefract Ex-Service Men’s Club.
The club was very busy when I arrived; “These are good” said some of the members, I agree; Freshly Squeezed is a really energetic duo who are always smiling. They have acquired new and very effective lights since I last saw them. Some of the songs I heard were, ‘It’s Raining Men', 'Can’t Fight The Moonlight'.The girls, Little Sam and Kim Tiny have added new songs in their show some of which are; '2012', ‘Evacuate The Dance Floor’, ‘Mercy’, ‘Hollywood Is Dead’ and a Bruno Mars song, ‘Marry You’. Don’t miss Freshly Squeezed when you see them billed at a venue near you...
