Concert Secretaries Meeting...
The Wakefield, Pontefract & District Concert Secretaries Federation meeting took place at the Prince Of Wales WMC on Thursday night; after the meeting singing star, ‘Julieanna’ hosted a showcase. She opened the show with her theme song, ‘I Was Born To Sing Forever’
Julieanna introduced the first artiste, Thomas Henry from York. He looked casually smart dressed in a black shirt, complete with a tie, and trousers. Thomas has a good voice and sang in his set,‘Chasing Cars’ and ‘A Teenager In Love’. Good Set Thomas..
Julieanna then introduced Genna Crooke From Barnsley; she was dressed in a black sparkly top over sequined leggings.LTS, Gemma has a powerful voice and sang, ‘Who Knew’,(Lee Lambert’s favourite song), and a Soul and Motown medley. Well done Genna!
Taking the show up to the interval was Mark Burton, a very tall man with a big voice; he was dressed in a grey suit shirt and tie.He certainly made his "Mark" He started his set with a Michael Buble song ‘It’s A New Life’followed by the songs of Meatloaf, ‘A Bat Out Of Hell’ and Queen’s ‘Somebody To Love’. Wow, what a voice, look out for Mark Burton...
Julieanna opened the second part of the show with, ‘Bring Me To Life’; she introduced Pontefract girl, Jodie Alexander who looked great in a silver dress edged with black and LTS. Jodie started her set with an impresseve version of the Etta James song, ‘At Last’ followed by Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’and finishing with, ‘Price Tag’. Well done Jodie...
The final act was a two boy duo from Rotherham called Top Marks; both were dressed in classy and shiny suits, one black and the other silver grey, LTS they were black patent leather you know...The voices and the harmonies were nothing short of wonderful and they packed a lot of songs into their allotted time. ‘This Old Heart Of Mine’, was the opening song in a superb Motown Medley. There were a couple of ballads and a Latin American part of their show;terrific showmen; Mark& Mark are 'Top Marks'...
It was good to see a full club mid week for the show and full marks, [oops, sorry]
to Julieanna for her debut as a commere... Well done...
