Glasshoughton Club in Castleford was quite busy on Wednesday for heat 7 of, “Star Search”.
There were four contestants vying for a place in the quarter finals.
Jonathan Carroll opened the show with a song, “I’ll Go Where The Music Takes Me”
before introducing the team of Judges, the show producer/sound technician, Steve Paige.
The first contestant was Belinda from Chapel St. Leonards. She looked good in a short sequined dress which changes colour under the lights. She has a good voice and lots of confidence; a couple of her songs were, ‘Right Back Where We Started From’ and ‘Run’.
Contestant number two was Doncaster girl Olitia. She too has a good voice, very strong and in such a small frame too. Olitia sang in her set, ‘One and Only’ and ‘Forget You’.
Contestant three was Wakefield girl Kayleigh who looked good in her short silver sequined dress. She has a wonderful voice and chose to sing in her set, ‘I Who Have Nothing and Time To Say Goodbye’.
The last but not least contestant was Ackworth’s own Faith; wow, what a voice, in her set she sang, ‘Valerie’ and a couple of songs she has written herself called, ‘Faith In Love’ finishing with,‘I’ll Fight The Rain’. Well done Faith, two super songs there, well written and well sung.
Sadly only three can go forward to the next round and Belinda, Kayleigh and Olitia were the three chosen by the judges.
