George Vth Show Raises £402
A full house greeted us for this great show; Jonathan Carroll opened the show with a couple of songs and went on to introduce the first act in the shape of Paul, ‘The Pocket Rocket’, what an energetic man he is. He was dressed casually smart for the occasion; a couple of his songs were,‘Crying In The Rain’ and ‘A Victim To Love’. A good set Paul.
Next up was Simply ‘H’,what a lovely voice he has, I always called him Mr Smooth. ‘H’ sang in his set,’Don’t Throw Your Love Away’, ‘Lucky Lips’ and a couple of Matt Monro songs. A great spot ‘H’.
Emily Peters was next; she looked great in a short black sequined dress and LTS; she too has a super voice, some of Emily’s songs were, ‘Could It Be Magic’, ‘Hero’ and ‘Hero’. Yet another great set...
After the fund raising part of the show in which there was a raffle and a couple of games of Bingo, those two guys, The Sharpe Experience were introduced on stage. From the moment they appeared to the moment they left they had the audience in stitches. I won’t go into their jokes or routines as it would spoil it for you should you see them in your club. Great stuff Robert and Paul.
The next act was the operations manager of the Prince Of Wales charity shops, ‘Amy Thomas’ who showed what a superb voice she has; she sang in her set, ‘This Is The Real Thing’, ‘My Love And Devotion’ and ‘One Night Only’. Great stuff Amy.
Next was a young lady who had come for a night out, Louise Webster, what a voice she has and what a personality; ‘Red Light Spells Danger’, ‘Human’, a great version of ‘Forget You and finishing with Adele’s’,‘Forget You’. The final act was Tristan Drew who went on stage to sing, ‘Moves Like Jagger’. A very good show which raised £402... Thank You George Vth and Committee and not forgetting the sound man, Steve Paige...
