Full House For Michelle And Dave
Tyersal club was very busy on bank holiday Monday for the charity show in aid of Breast Cancer. The show was organised by clubland favourites Michelle and Stewart Roundhill, AKA Ebony Jordan and Dave Hill. Dave was compere and despite a sore throat he carried out his duties really well.
The first artiste was 19 years old Luke Murgatroyd; he looked very smart on stage and is an outstanding singer. He sang in his set, ‘Cry Me A River’, Brown Eyed Girl and The Music Of The Night’.
A lady I have a lot of time for, Julieanna, was next, (I only saw her on Saturday night). She looked beautiful on stage as she always does; amongst her songs were, ‘I Dreamed a Dream and 'If Tomorrow Never Comes’ which is a song I had never heard sung by a soprano but enjoyed it very much. That voice sends shivers down my spine! It was nice to see Julieanna's husband, David there; together they were a duo called, Inner Vison, do you remember them, they were very good.
The next act was a lady I saw in Benidorm a couple of years ago, Janie Voltaire who performs a Shirley Bassey tribute show; she was dressed in the Shirley Bassey style, long feathered dress and cape. ‘Gold Finger, Get the Party Started and This Is My Life’, were just a few of her impressive songs; just like Shirley.
In a short interval Luke Murgatroyd conducted a Dutch Auction which raised £83’. Well done Luke... there was a raffle with 28 prizes, an auction which raies lots of money. It really was a well organised night of fund raising.
The next act was a duo called, ‘The Laura Stevens Connection’.With Laura as lead singer with Dave on Keyboards
and backing vocals. They sang in their part of the show, ‘There’s a Guy Works Down The Fish Shop Swears He’s Elvis’, ‘My Love My Valentine’ and an excellent version of, ‘Can’t Take my Eyes Off You’ Well done Laura and Dave.
The final act was Pop Idol singer Danny Tetley who has as I’m sure you will know, a very distinctive voice, as one
person said, “There’s only one Danny Tetley... He opened his set with a Bruno Mars song, ‘Just The Way You Are’, followed by ‘Don’t Stop Believing’. To my delight he introduced his sister Leanne Tetley to the stage and their old duo,
‘The Genetics’, were together again. Together they sang a Chicago song, ‘You’re The Inspiration’, ‘Valerie’ and ‘Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel’. Welcome back to show biz Leanne. Danny finished the night with a great dance spot.
Well done to all the artistes and to Michelle, Stewart and the team of helpers to make a great night for, Breast Cancer Research....£1,407.36p. was raised . What a show, what a fantastic audience and what a great club... Just a couple of pictures I managed to find below...
