Darren York was the artiste on stage at Alverthorpe club on Friday; he was very smartly dressed in a dark suit, (with a red lining) and white shirt. (Liked his shoes) Darren has a terrific voice, a great sense of humour and rapport with the audience. In his show he sang, ’Jesamine’ a Casuals song from the ‘60’s,a brilliant version of Michael Bolton’s, ‘Drift Away’, this was a recording he had done with the aid of a guy from the Roadhouse soft rock duo; ‘Maggie’ a Foster And Allen song. There were songs by the Searchers, Rod Stewart, The Temptations and The Eagles. I loved the links between the songs. A top entertainer. It’s a shame there weren’t more people there to see the show.
Darren will be appearing at Doncaster’s Trade Club in the town centre on Tuesday
20th December at 2pm with Neil and Rick who are,’ Roadhouse’. What a show that will be.
