The First Semi Final…
Glasshoughton WMC hosted the first semi finals of Star Search on Wednesday night; Jonathan Carroll, as always immaculate on stage, opened the show with a song, ‘Ain’t No Stopping Us Now’, he introduced the first contestant,
Horbury girl, Leanne Crowther looked lovely in a short black dress, [LTS], Leanne has a lovely voice and a couple of her songs were, ‘Jar Of Hearts and Don’t You Worry About A Thing’. Leanne was the only contestant not on the club circuit in this semi final but it shouldn’t be long, she has a lot to offer.
Next was Castleford’s Emily Peters who was wearing a short black and silver panelled dress, [LTS]. Emily has a lovely voice and a couple of her songs were, ‘Could It Be Magic and Saving All My Love For You’.
The third contestant was Wakefield’s Jamie McKnight who looked very smart. Jamie has introduced comedy into his act these days and told a couple of jokes. He sang in his set, ‘Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This and Hero’
.
Jonathan Carroll opened the second half of the show with Lionel Richie’s ‘All Night Long’. He introduced:- From Sheffield,
Tristan Drew. Tristan looked very smart. he has a terrific voice and sang in his set, ‘Run For You Life’ and ‘Move Like Jagger. Tristan has a sound of Olly Murs in his voice and in fact does an Olly Murs tribute show.
Enter, from Manchester, the very tall Danielle Hobson dressed in a short sparkly blue dress [LTS]. What a voice this young lady has, she sang in her set, ‘Just The Way You Are. and a terrific version of ‘The Climb’. Danielle celebrated her 21st
birthday last week. Happy Birthday Danielle!
The final act was Normanton girl, Jazz. Who looked great in a short dress and patterned leggings, (I think) or were they nylon stockings? Jazz sang and danced in her set, a couple of her songs were, ‘The Rhythm Is Gonna Get You’ and ‘Get You’. Anexcellent spot...
Well, what a show! I didn’t envy the judging panel their task, six great acts and only three could go to the final and they are……
Danielle Hobson, Jazz, and Emily Peters. It could have been any three from the six contestants.
