Castleford Star Search
Jonathan Carroll opened the third quarter final of the Castleford Star Search with a Motown song, ‘My Girl’. He went on to introduce the first contestant, Luke Murgatroyd from Bradford. Luke looked very smart in his stage attire. He has a good strong voice and a good personality. Some of Luke’s songs were, ‘Give a Little Respect’, 'Taking Over The Bright Side’ and ‘Love Changes Everything’.
Next was Belinda who had travelled from Chapel St. Leonards; Belinda looked great in a multi-coloured sequined dress over leggings, (LTS*). She has a strong voice and a great personality. Belinda sang in her set, ‘Proud Mary’, ‘Knock On Wood’ and ‘What A Wonderful World’.
Enter Leanne Crowther from Horbury; she looked lovely in an orange top over shorts; (LTS*). Leanne has a lovely voice and sang in her set, ‘Don’t Worry ‘Bout A Thing ‘, ‘I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker’and ‘Someone Like You’.
The final act tonight was Sheffield’s Tristan Drew looking casually smart; wow, this was a great set in which he sang, ‘Run For Your Life’, ‘All Time Low, and a medley containing, ‘Shake a Tail Feather’ and ‘Do You Love Me’.
[*LTS = Like The Shoes]
Again, it’s sad that only three can progress to the semi finals out of four; the judges chose, Luke Murgatroyd, Tristan Drew and Leanne Crowther.
The attendance was a bit on the low side this week for the competition, next week’s line up is, Adam Le Feuvre, ‘Robbo’,Amelia Davis, Kayleigh Pearman, Kristian Burke and Olitia. Six great acts... don’t miss this fourth quarter final...
