Barricade
They're here again, the very entertaining comedy duo from South Wales, “Barricade”; the last time I saw them the exploding guitar went off with a mighty band scattering pieces into the audience. They had been mistakenly sold stronger detonators than they usually use. There was no harm done, just loud enough to wake the dead. Well tonight at Horbury WMC where they appear every year and have done for the past 12 years, the club was very busy with people coming from far and wide to see them. Although it was the dance set we saw, there was still lots of comedy; some of the songs were, ‘ Living Next Door To Alice’, (Minus the swear words), Jackie Wilson’s, ‘Higher and Higher’, ‘Love Really Hurts Without You, ‘I’m A Believer’ and many more. The dance floor was busy even when they sang, ’ (By Request), ‘Annie’s Song’ and, ‘The Working Man’. What a duo, funny and two fantastic singers with pitch perfect harmonies. Barricade is a name to
remember!!! No doubt they will be booked back next year…
