Phew! Isn't it Hot tonight, here I am in the Albion Street WMC In Castleford, (The Nash)'. Which was very busy. Tonight's entertainer was an old friend, Jonathan Carroll, he was in fine voice and looked well in trousers and a shirt, looking real cool on stage. Jonathan has a good strong voice and chooses his material to suit his audiences. He opened his set tonight with, 'Sending Out An SOS', this was followed by, 'Let The Music Play'. It's been a long time since I heard JC as we call him, he has added some good tracks to his repertoire. The next was soul song called, 'Ms Grace', followed by, 'Something Old Something New' . We used to do lots of shows together a good few years ago in the clubs and in the Wakefield Theatre Royal; we had people like Charlie Williams, David from, Heartbeat and not forgetting, Lee Lambert who is doing well for himself and many of clubland favourites. There was a song from the Stylistics, 'I Can't Give You Anything ', a Spandau Ballet was featured with the song, 'Gold', one of JC's favourite songs. Many more that were well known, I now just sit back and enjoy the rest of the set.
- Westgate Common Club was busy tonight for the visit of a lady I have known for many years, her name is Zenne. some of hr songs included 'Candy Kisses', which was the first song I heard from her tonight. She is good on guitar, her sound system is good and the backing tracks good quality. One of Zenne's songs was, 'What In The Worlds Come Over You'. And one for Mr T for old times sake was, 'Lay Down Beside Me'. There was one called, 'Turn It On Turn It Loose'. A lovely song, and another called 'Today I Started Loving You Again'. One I missed was a self penned country song written by Zenne called, 'Nothing Lasts Forever'. There was an old favourite called, 'Old Flames'. a Hugh Moffatt song and, 'Midnight And Two More Bottles Of Wine', written by Delbert McLinton.Another good night of Traditional Country Music at, 'GILLY'S'.
