The Willow Park Social Club …Very Busy…
The Ricky Graham Leisure Agency staged their monthly auditions tonight and it was good to see a full house; there were a good few agents and entertainers in attendance and there were some good acts auditioning. First was a Neil Diamond tribute act, He was (or still is), Ian David from Castleford; he has a decent voice and sang, ‘America’, ‘Sweet Caroline’ , ‘Love On The Rocks’ and ‘Forever In Blue Jeans’.
Second was Leeds entertainer and guitar vocalist, Phil Allen’ he has a good voice and can play that guitar. His sound equipment is very good as are his backing tracks. In his set he sang T Rex’s, ‘Get It On’, Paul Young’s, ‘Every Time You Go Away’ , his best song in my opinion. Phil ended his set with a great version of ‘Parisienne Walkway’, Loved it…
The next entertainer was a young lady who has been in Tenerife for a couple of years, she looked terrific in a long black strapless gown; Lts, her name, Lizzi Brown from Barnsley, she has a great voice and a good sound system. Lizzi sang Adele‘s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ , ‘Rainy Day In Georgia’, ‘Proud Mary’ and Whitney Houston’s, ‘The Greatest Love Of All'. Remeber the name, 'Lizzi Brown'.. I think she is sure to work in our clubs…
17 years old Beth Brook is a very confident young lady with a big voice in a small frame. She looked good on stage I a very modern outfit, (Lts) and has a good sound system. A few of her songs, Etta James’ ‘At Last’, ‘Cool Rider’, ‘Read All About It (Part Three)’ and a Rhiannon Song, ‘I Found Love In An Open Space’, (I think)… Beth Brook.... Brilliant...
Beth can be booked through The Apple Entertainment Agency; Telephone:- 01977 678458 www.appleartistes.co.
The last act I saw was Alicia Lewis from Bradford. Alicia looked radiant in a red sequined cocktail dress, Lts. When she opened her set with a lovely song called ‘Stars’, (Thank you Lee Lambert) and Adele’s ‘Someone Like You’, there were songs from Corrine Bailey Ray, ‘Put Your Record On’ and Diana Ross’s version of, ‘Why Do Fools Fall In Love. Great stuff Alicia Lewis...
There were a couple of acts to go on but time was pressing so I took my leave.. It was good to see John and Sharon Fitzpatrick, the afore mentioned Lee Lambert, Steffi and Diane Ackroyd and many more entertainers here to support, thenks for your company folks.
Ricky Graham’s Auditions. These are regularly held on the last Thursday of each month…
