Saturday Night Out.
Horbury Club was very busy tonight; as we entered the concert room some of the members told me that the act was super. The act was a male / female duo, “Gypsy Queen” and yes, they really are super. The couple in the duo are Andy Blower and Stacey Squires who is also a Pink Tribute Act. They opened the set with Rod Stewart songs, ‘Maggie May’ followed by the songs of Cher, The Proclaimers, Bob Marley and many more. The backing is a guitar a saxophone played by Andy and backing tracks; yes folks both artistes can sing. The camaraderie between them on stage is very entertaining, the dance moves and their harmonies are note perfect. The set was ended with Andy doing the elephant dance... I love this duo, 'Gypsy Queen'...
The band at the Admiral Duncan tonight was the well established 50’s and 60’s
harmony band, Trevor, Norman, Mick, Trevor, (2) and John who together are, ‘Vinyl Legacy’. Well I have seen the band on several occasions and am never disappointed. There were a few different songs tonight; a couple were, 'Lay Down’ by the Strawbs from 1972 and Lindesfarne’s 1972 hit, ‘Meet Me On The Corner’. A top class band, Vinyl Legacy...
